CAFE INTERNSHIP
ABOUT THE CAFE INTERNSHIP
The Meeting Place Cafe is launching a new season and we are looking for interns. Our focus is to build community and extend hope through the ministry of prayer, worship, evangelism, hospitality and coffee. Members that join us will help build the ministry we are creating through an already thriving café with impeccable coffee, whilst growing and learning the business side of the café. We are looking for creative people who want to grow in these areas, and learn how to influence and shape community through them. Responsibilities would include: learning barista skills, hospitality/serving skills, designing and implementing strategic ministry as part of a team, serving through prayer and worship, business skills (how to start and run a café as a ministry), and finally, social media for the café and events. The internship is 18 months long and runs alongside our Basic Leadership School. Upon successfully completing the 18-month BLS, you will receive a Certificate IV in Christian Missions with YWAM Training.
Our aim is to equip you and give you the experience needed to be able to start your own café ministry.

BUSINESS PHASE
During the Business Phase, we have lectures on topics that will give you a footing for starting your own business including Marketing, Managing a Team, Creativity, and Creating a Business Plan.
MINISTRY PHASE
During the Ministry Phase, we look at how we can create atmospheres with the Holy Spirit, the Ethics of the Coffee Industry, and how we can continually use our gifts in hospitality to those around us.
OUTREACH PHASE
For the Outreach Phase, you will spend 2 months managing The Meeting Place Cafe and 2 months on location in a partner café applying your skills and learning from others in the industry.
COST OF TRAINING PHASE
$800 AUD
For currency conversion, click here. This includes training and training resources for the internship track. This does not include Basic Leadership School fees (a required component of the Cafe Internship), accommodation, food, visas, insurance, travel to Brisbane or personal expenses.
COST OF OUTREACH PHASE
$1,000 - 3,500 AUD
For currency conversion, click here. The cost of this phase varies depending on location. This would include flights, accommodation, and meals during the two months you are away.
